Terms of Use
LAST UPDATED — 9 SEPTEMBER 2026
These terms govern your use of empirithlabs.com. They are short because the site is simple: it describes our research and the systems we are building, and it lets you contact us or apply to work with us. By using the site you agree to them.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site. We may change these terms; the version on this page at the time you use the site is the one that applies.
2. Who we are
Empirith Labs is an empirical research institution based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. You can reach us at [email protected].
3. Use of the site
You may browse the site, link to it, and quote from it with attribution for non-commercial purposes such as research, commentary and journalism.
You may not:
- use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting, or the systems behind its forms;
- submit false, misleading or malicious content through its forms;
- use automated tools to scrape, harvest from, or overload the site or its forms;
- copy the site, or substantial parts of it, for commercial redistribution without our written permission.
4. Intellectual property
The text, images, design, code and other material on the site are owned by Empirith Labs or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. “Empirith”, “Empirith Labs”, the element-style project marks, and the project names Clarium, Elenchium and Cascadium are names and marks of Empirith Labs. Nothing on the site grants you a licence to any of them.
Source code we publish on GitHub is governed by the licence in each repository, not by these terms.
5. No professional advice
Nothing on the site is medical, clinical, legal, financial, agricultural or engineering advice, and nothing on it should be relied on as such. In particular, Clarium is described on this site as a teleconsultation and health-education system; it is non-diagnostic by design, and the site’s description of it is not a medical resource. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.
6. Research and projects in development
The projects and instruments described on the site are research systems, most of them in development. Descriptions reflect our current intent and progress and may change without notice. We make no promise that any project will be released, will work as described, or will be available to you. Any figures, dates or stages shown are our own current estimates, not commitments.
7. Third-party links and services
The site links to, and loads resources from, third parties — including GitHub, X, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, Google Fonts and Cloudflare. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
8. Submissions
When you send us an inquiry or an application, you confirm that the information is accurate and yours to give, and that you have the right to send any file you attach. We may decline to respond to any inquiry and may reject any application, and we are not obliged to give reasons. How we handle what you send is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Submitting an inquiry does not create a contract, partnership, confidentiality obligation or any other relationship between us. If you need to share confidential material, ask us for a written agreement first.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or free of errors.
To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, Empirith Labs and its founder, staff and collaborators are not liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or anything on it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them, or from your use of the site, is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version on this page and changing the “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
